A Journal of Geological Science
OverviewBYU Geology Studies was first published in 1954 as a journal mainly for the publication of theses and faculty research from the Department of Geology. It has evolved into a significant journal of refereed articles on western U.S. geology and worldwide paleontology. The journal is distributed to more than 300 libraries and institutions, and it can be found in almost every U.S. state, most European countries, Japan, China, India, and a number of other countries around the globe. We currently publish one volume each year of approximately 200 pages. In addition, we have put out several special publications and maps. Special publications and journal issues may be purchased by contacting Joanne Loosli, publication secretary. Submittal of ManuscriptsManuscripts on any aspect of geology are welcome as submittals to the BYU Geology Studies. Submittals should be addressed to Scott M. Ritter, editor of the journal. Submit two review copies, double spaced, with clear copies of any illustrations. Do not submit original illustrations until the manuscript has cleared the review process. Follow GSA Bulletin style format throughout the manuscript and in all references. If maps, large illustrations, or color illustrations are to be part of the manuscript, please consult the editor before submittal. After the manuscript has been reviewed by two external reviewers and determined to be acceptable for publication, any comments from the reviewers will be returned to the authors for revision. The final revised version of the manuscript should be submitted as both a paper copy and on disk (preferably in WordPerfect format, or as an ANSI or ASCII file). Final illustrations should also be submitted at this time. Search the JournalsJournal IndexCurrent Issue
